Axel Vindenes releases third solo single "At the Start" (March 5th)
It's fair to say that the world wishes for a restart, everyone is hoping for better times. As a musician, the only thing you can do is to stay positive. That's what the bandleader of Norwegians energetic indie export Kakkmaddafakka Axel Vindenes is doing. His kick-off for 2021 is called "At the Start", his third single as a solo artist.
"At the Start" feels like time traveling to the mid-80s. Vindenes combines smashing synths with a blustery beat and turns back to a more poppy style, having had the balladic "Something" as the predecessor. "I am loving what I am doing right now. "Yesterday" was a blast as a first single, taking the freedom to make a six minutes long second single like "Something" was quite a cool experience for me. Now I am really happy to start the new year with 'At the Start'", says Vindenes.
His third single thematizes the most important thing in our all lives: Love. "Like all things in life, relationships don't always last forever. Sometimes you live in a dream world, everything's fine, it's this 'good start' every lover knows and then it's suddenly it's all over again", Vindenes explains the meaning behind the song. A debut solo record is still on the cards for the end of this winter. Until then, his fans can bridge the waiting time with his now three-song catalog.
